TechSpec is a FREE tool designed to advance the circular economy for electronics by automatically generating digital passports for computers, monitors, cell phones, and other devices.

WHAT ARE DIGITAL PRODUCT PASSPORTS?
Digital Product Passports are publicly accessible web pages that enhance transparency by providing hardware test results, photos, comprehensive hardware specifications, and irrefutable evidence of data destruction for each device processed.
TechSpec automatically generates Digital Product Passports (DPPs) for laptops, desktops, monitors, mobile devices, and other electronics. By furnishing DPPs for pre-owned electronics, we aim to foster increased reuse and promote responsible recycling practices.

Digital Passports help to give certified refurbished status by providing evidence that computers have been tested, powered on, upgraded, and inspected.

CERTIFICATIONS
Both electronics recycling certifications (R2 and Estewards) require documented proof of hardware testing. They also require labels with hardware details to be attached to devices. TechSpec fulfills both requirements.
